The Pulmonology program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital treats newborns to young adults with acute and chronic respiratory disorders and supports patients from initial diagnosis to the transition to adult care. Our team provides diagnostic and laboratory testing that yields clear results and offers a wide range of services, education, support and advanced treatment options for both inpatients and outpatients. Our team is committed to our patients living healthy and active lifestyles, that’s why our pulmonologists lead a collaborative asthma program aimed at reducing hospitalization for children with asthma and connecting hospital-based and community resources for patients and their families.
About our Cystic Fibrosis Center
Our pulmonology program is accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as a Cystic Fibrosis Care Center, serving as a center of excellence for clinical care, research and multidisciplinary support for cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. Our program is also a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-designated Therapeutic Development Center, one of more than 80 centers worldwide specializing in clinical trials to evaluate the safety and efficacy of new therapies.
About our Follow-Up Clinics
Many respiratory issues can be diagnosed immediately following delivery. Our pulmonology follow-up clinics offer care from birth to young adult and include specialists from pulmonology, respiratory therapy, nutrition, speech therapy and social work, all working together to develop specific treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
In addition to our comprehensive care, we have access to pediatric specialists and subspecialists throughout our hospital and can provide a seamless transition for patients who need additional specialty care beyond our services.
